What audio format does it record?

Your browser chooses a supported MediaRecorder format. Many desktop browsers produce WebM/Opus, while others may use an MP4-based audio format. The download uses an extension that matches the format reported by the browser.

Why is my recording silent?

Check that you allowed microphone permission, that the right input is selected at the OS level, and that the mic is not muted. The live level meter is the quickest check — if it does not move while you speak, no audio is being captured.

Can I record system audio too?
