What is an online countdown timer?

An online countdown timer counts minutes and seconds in the browser, then plays a sound when it hits zero. This page adds presets, pause and reset, a custom title, and a progress bar. There is no account. Use it to time a presentation segment, a Pomodoro sprint, a cooking step, or a screen-recording take that should stay inside a fixed length.

How do I time a screen recording take?

Decide the spoken length first (often 30–90 seconds for a feature clip). Start this timer, then start the online screen recorder or ScreenBuddy. When the alert fires, stop talking and stop the capture. Editing still matters: trim the dead air at both ends so the published file is shorter than the rehearsal clock.

Will the sound appear in my recording?

If you share system or tab audio, the alert can leak into the file. Use headphones, disable share-audio for the timer tab, or sit the timer on a second display you are not capturing. Yes. When the timer reaches zero it plays an audible alert tone and the display turns red with a "Time's up" message. The sound uses your browser's audio, so make sure your volume is on.
Can I pause and resume the timer?
Yes. Hit Pause to stop the countdown and Resume to continue from where it left off. Reset returns it to your set time so you can start fresh.
Will the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. The timer tracks real elapsed time, so it stays accurate even if the tab is in the background — when you return, it shows the correct remaining time and will have alerted at zero.
Is it free and account-free?
