Why it exists
A useful recording should make the next step easy to follow. Small controls, pauses, and hurried cursor movement can make a straightforward explanation harder to watch. ScreenBuddy keeps capture close to the editing tools that solve those problems, so a short walkthrough does not require a separate editing workflow.

From capture to a clearer recording
Record
Choose a display, a single window, or a region. Select microphone and system audio sources and an optional webcam, then review a short test recording before a full take.
Edit
Trim pauses, adjust speed, and arrange recorded clips in a storyboard. Save and reopen local projects.
Clarify
Guide attention with editable zoom, cursor effects, spotlight, callouts, pen markup, and captions. Choose a background and framing that keep the screen readable.
Export
Export licensed recordings as MP4 or animated GIF on your own machine, with horizontal, square, and vertical aspect ratios.
Local media, clear network boundaries
Recording, editing, captions, previews, and local exports are processed on your Windows PC or Mac. Internet access is required for subscription verification, account sign-in, update checks, and optional model downloads. Legacy license keys remain supported for local exports. The desktop app does not automatically upload recordings. Optional unlisted sharing uploads only the finished MP4 you choose to share; editable projects stay on your computer. Platform support
ScreenBuddy v1.8.0 supports Windows 10 or later on x64, and macOS 12 or later on Apple silicon (Intel Macs are not supported). Editable Windows cursor effects require Windows 10 version 2004 (build 19041) or later with Windows Graphics Capture; fallback capture disables those effects. Captions run locally, with bundled English transcription and an optional multilingual model download. Some AI tools have additional hardware and OS requirements.
