What is a free online screen recorder?

A free online screen recorder captures a display, window, or browser tab inside the page you already have open. This tool uses the browser’s screen-capture API, assembles the video locally, and lets you download the file. There is no install, no account, and no upload step. Use it when you need a clip in the next minute; use a desktop editor when the clip has to teach someone.

How do I record a Chrome tab with audio?

Choose tab audio or “System + microphone,” start recording, pick the Chrome tab, and tick Share audio in the picker. Tab audio is the reliable path on macOS Chromium browsers; full-screen system audio is more often available on Windows Chromium. Firefox and Safari expose fewer audio combinations. If the finished file is silent, the share-audio box was almost certainly left off.

What file do I get — WebM or MP4?

The browser picks a MediaRecorder container it can encode. Desktop Chrome often writes WebM; some browsers write MP4. The download button shows the extension. Can I record system audio and my microphone?

Where do my recordings go — are they uploaded?

Why is there no audio in my recording?
Browser security requires you to explicitly enable "Share audio" (or "Share tab audio") in the screen-picker dialog. If that box is unticked, only video is captured. Re-record and make sure it is enabled.
