03

Export

Download a standard .srt or .vtt file for your video.

Captions that any player understands

Subtitles make video accessible, boost watch time, and help search engines understand your content. This generator lets you build a clean caption file fast — type cues by hand for full control, or paste a script and let it auto-time the lines for you.

SRT or VTT — export both

Use SRT for YouTube, social uploads, and most editors; use WebVTT for HTML5 video on the web. Both come from the same cue list, so you only build your captions once.

Timing tips

  • Keep each caption to 1–2 short lines so it is readable.
  • Aim for 2–4 seconds per cue depending on length.
  • Avoid overlaps — each cue should end before the next begins.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between SRT and VTT?
SRT (SubRip) is the most widely supported subtitle format and works with most players, YouTube, and social platforms. WebVTT (.vtt) is the web standard used by HTML5 <track> elements and supports styling and positioning. This tool exports both from the same cues.
How does auto-timing work?
Paste your script with one caption per line and set "seconds per line." The tool creates sequential cues, each lasting that many seconds. You can then adjust any individual cue's start and end times before exporting.
Can I edit the timing of each caption?
Yes. Every cue has editable start and end fields in seconds, plus its text. Add or remove cues freely, then export when the timing looks right.
Is my script uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser and the file is generated locally when you click download. Your script and captions never touch a server.
